I Think it Might be Time for an Intervention

Hello, my name is Mike and I am an addict. I am addicted to Alexa. I had been thinking for.a while now that I might have a problem, I ask Alexa to do even the simplest things for me just because I can but it finally hit home when I found myself ordering a Dash Wand. Now I know after your first order this is a free device so why not get it but it made me look at everything I already have with Alexa built in.

Currently I own nine Echo Dots, one in just about every room in the house, two second generation Echos, one at home and one at the office, an Ecobee 4 and three Fire TVs, and an Echo Tap. This gives me voice control from everywhere except my car which I am testing different solutions for anyways.

The Dash Wand is marketed as a device for the kitchen, now I already have an Echo Dot in the kitchen so there is really no need. But it’s an Alexa device so I had to have it.

From my initial playing around with the Wand it is a pretty neat device although I do not think it will get much use. It is very responsive to the button press although I have to get used to not having to say Alexa first. I love that they made it magnetic and it has already found a home on my refrigerator where I think it will end up sitting being nothing more than a magnet.

I know some of you may have more Alexa enabled devices but these certainly meet my needs and give me the level of control I need.

In the future I plan to replace the Echo Dot in my master bedroom with an Echo Spot and will most likely pick up a few Echo Buttons just because. Ultimately I do not need these but can not convince myself to not purchase them.

What do you have for Alexa enabled devices and if you have a Dash Wand let me know how you use it.
