Product Review: Kiwi Design Magnetic Wall and Car Mount for the Amazon Echo Dot

Kiwi 3

In the world of the Amazon Echo Dot, there are a lot of accessories. Some accessories like the This Dottie and the Fremo Evo Plus can be useful while others are just made with the hope that they can ride the popularity wave of the Echo Dot. The Kiwi Design Magnetic Wall and Car Mount for the Amazon Echo Dot is one of these products. Now the Kiwi Design Magnetic Wall and Car Mount for the Amazon Echo Dot is two different mounts in one so I will talk about each individually.

With so many quality mounting options available for the Echo Dot who wants something Kiwi 2that will still leave you with a cable running down your wall? Certainly not me and unless someone had a very specific use case I do not see the usefulness. I do like the idea of mounting with a magnet but really the system should be the other way around with the magnet embedded in the silicone. This simple change would possibly make this product sort of useful as it would allow me to stick an Echo Dot on a refrigerator or other such metal surface. I know that is a stretch, but it is the only thing I could see that would make this useful.

The next part of the Kiwi Design Magnetic Wall and Car Mount for the Amazon Echo Dot is its use in a car. This I think may be less useful than the magnetic wall mount. Who in their right mind would stick an Echo Dot to a vent in their car? I can not even imagine how ugly that would be, not to mention how unsafe that would be in an accident.

Okay so I’m sure by now you can tell I do not like the Kiwi Design Magnetic Wall and Car Mount for the Amazon Echo Dot, but there is actually one thing I like. I like the silicon case and I will continue to use that an Echo Dot. It has a decent look to it and I like the little bit of protection that may be added as this will be use on the Echo Dot that is in my workshop.

Anyone here want to stick an Echo Dot on the vent in their car? Let me know in the comments below.
