Amazon Released New Fire HD 8

Another day, another new Amazon Fire Tablet. It seems like Amazon is always refreshing its Fire Tablet lineup which is nice to see although I must admit, there are not many changes with each iteration. That is very much the case with the Amazon Fire HD 8. Yeah, it has a better front camera and a newer version of FireOS but really the only thing to get even remotely excited about is Hands-Free Alexa integration.

While Hands-free Alexa has been available for the Fire HD 10 for some time now the Fire HD 8 did not get the same love until this latest hardware refresh. This leads me to believe that there was some sort of hardware limitation that stopped Amazon from adding this feature to previous generations.

The Fire HD 8 is available in both 16GB and 32GB versions both with and without ads, so you have plenty of pricing options available. The Fire HD 8 is still a great tablet for ActionTiles if you are a SmartThings user and I think hands-free Alexa is a good addition to a tablet I am using for ActionTiles.

What are your thoughts on the new features of the Amazon Fire HD 8? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. below.
