Updates from Google and its partners are flying fast and furious lately as Google works on making itself a fixture in the smart home space. We have seen the announcement of the Google Home Hub and a very nice looking overhaul of the Google Home App which both should allow for easier, hassle-free control of your smart devices through the Google Assistant platform. Adding to that Lutron has just announced that Serena, Triathlon, Sivoia QS and Pallodiom shades will be gaining native integration with Google Assistant.
Integration between Google Assistant and Lutron Shades will require the use of the Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge or the Lutron Connect Bridge and will allow you to directly control your Lutron Shades with features such as open, close, set level and tilt. With this integration, Lutron will become the first company to offer native smart shade integration with Google Assistant which is another nice first for Lutron.
The cost of entry on Lutron Shades is very pricey and for most cost prohibitive but if you are someone who is already using them or planning on installing them this is a very nice feature which I am happy to see come.
